As outlined in last week’s letter and presentation this is a pivotal time in the life of our parish. Never before have such extensive restorations been done to our beloved building. While St. Patrick’s Parish is more than just a building, this place serves as a physical reminder of faith and a focus to our community.

Please consider pledging. Many have donated over the last 4 years without making a pledge, yet with such a large project it is important to gauge how much people are willing to give over the next few years. Please use the attach form to state what you wish to give over the next 8 years.

This historic undertaking can only happen with your help. The building of St. Patrick’s Church in 1882 was a great sacrifice to our forefathers, yet it has left us with a lasting legacy. This impressive structure is insured at more than 12 million dollars. The need to spend 1.5 million after 120 year does not seem extreme. It is for that reason that the Diocese is supporting this restoration project, by offering us a loan. We need to be 100% committed to this project.

It is time to look inward and to prayerfully consider how you can help us to meet our obligations. This is the responsibility of all families in our parish. We ask that you pledge to the best of your ability, knowing the benefits of having a gathering place for our strong, faith-filled. We do not want anyone, who feels that they are not in a position to help at this time, to leave us. We ask that all forms be returned by September 7, 2003.

Your payments may be made annually, quarterly, monthly or weekly. You can tailor your pledge and donation to suit your personal situation. Because this is an open loan at 4% we can pay down the principle at any time. Consider donating more at the beginning of the project to reduce the overall interest we will have to pay. We want to assist you in any way we can, we will accept post-dated cheques.

We also ask you to be mindful that our ongoing expenses, financed from our weekly collection, will continue. We will need to keep our offertory collection at its present level during the eight year campaign period.
