Message from the President of St. Vincent de Paul CWL:
“After joining the Catholic Church in 1989, being new to the area, I looked to the Catholic Women’s League as a way to become involved and engaged in the St. Vincent de Paul Parish life community. I served two terms as secretary to contribute my time, learn more and to meet new friends. It felt good to belong to a group of women, sharing our thoughts, concerns, and ideas. As a member, I am involved in community, raising money and awareness for different causes, such as; trafficking of women and children, leprosy in Canada, poverty in the developing world, Palliative Care, just to name a few.  I have grown spiritually, praying for members in crisis and those less fortunate than us. I never dreamt that I would be able to be president, but felt it was a personal challenge as it was the first time I found myself chairing a meeting and speaking in public both very intimidating. But with the mentoring of various members especially, past president Mary Sanders, I was empowered to step out of my comfort zone. I am in my second term as President due to unforeseen events and believe new leadership is necessary to keep the group motivated and successful. I challenge every member of the St. Vincent de Paul CWL to step out of their own personal comfort zone and dare to take on a leadership role.  As a member of the CWL, I have found “faith, fun, and fulfillment”. We are  “Women of Peace and Hope” Sincerely,  Brenda Biggelaar

Youth Ministry...

“Last week the guys “Wild at Heart” Retreat was a huge success! Thanks be to God! I want to thank so many people for their generous support financially and those who organized food prep. I especially want to thank the CWL of Dublin, Seaforth, Wingham and the Kinkora Knights of Columbus for supplying the food for so many hungry guys. That’s a lot of food! I’d like to thank all the men that chaperoned. What a witness to me of the faith in this awesome community! Bless you all! The Youth Mass in Wingham last Sunday was a huge success and it is so beautiful to see this ministry coming together as one. This Tuesday, there will be a youth meeting in Brussels at St. Ambrose Church 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. I invite all high school and young adults from both clusters to come out. There is still room on the bus for Steubenville. The date is July 9 - 11. If anyone needs more info. about anything or wish to discuss your ideas or concerns, feel very free to contact me via email kdoyle@dol.ca or 519-345-2972 ext 26
