Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed 2009 - 2010 as the Year for Priests. The purpose of this special year is to foster a deepening spiritual renewal among priests to strengthen them for the task of proclaiming the gospel in our time. As part of the diocesan celebrations to mark this unique event in the life of the universal Church, there will be a Mass for Priests celebrated on May 27th at St. Joseph’s Church, Stratford located at 96 Huron Street, beginning at 7:00 pm. All the faithful of the parishes in the Deanery of Huron-Perth are invited to join with Bishop Ronald Fabbro and the priests of the deanery for this Eucharistic celebration, wherein thanks will be offered for the gift of the ministerial priesthood.
