A Day with Mary…

May 22, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate will be offering a special day of retreat based on the messages of Fatima at St. Patrick’s Church, Kinkora. The Friars will give talks, hear confessions, have time for private prayer and adoration and conclude the day with the vigil Mass on Pentecost Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Friars will be accompanied by the sisters and tertiaries from Connecticut U.S.A. Details are on the poster.

We Need Your Support…

The West Perth Branch Cancer Society is selling daffodils on March 25th & 26th in Mitchell at the bank, post office and ValuMart. Please support and pray for cancer victims.

 

Maxine & Tony Ripka from Catholic Gifts Canada of Drayton will be in our parish cluster on the weekend of March 27/28. They have a very nice selection of First Communion, Confirmation and other Catholic gifts. 10% of the sales will be given to the parish.

 

Meatless Soup Meal…

On GOOD FRIDAY, April 2nd at 11:30 a.m..  St. Vincent de Paul Church will once again hold their annual MEATLESS SOUP MEAL.  As usual there will be a wonderful variety of home-made soups and breads. There will be sign-up sheets at the entrance of the church for the next few weeks. But don’t worry, if you decide at the last minute that you would like to bring your favourite meatless… whatever, then “bring it ON! Students requiring community service hours are encouraged to help out setting up, serving the food, or with cleanup. For more info please call Mary or Louis Sanders at 519-348-4671.

K of C BREAKFAST on Sun., March 28th, there will be a brunch after the 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick’s.  Everyone is welcome.

UPCOMING EVENTS: All parishioners are invited to join in the celebration of Mass for “Clergy Appreciation Night” at St. Patrick’s Church, Kinkora on Thursday, April 22nd at 5:00 p.m. Dinner to follow at Brodhagen Community Centre. A limited number of dinner tickets will be available from Knights of Columbus members at the back of the church following weekend masses starting on March 20. Cost is $25.00 per person. All proceeds will be sent to St. Peter’s Seminary, London. This event is being organized by the five councils of District 31 (Perth County).

 

Surprise Party…

“Seniors Alive” Day Trip…

Our spring outing will be on Wednesday, May 12th. We have an enjoyable day planned starting with dinner at the historic Elmhurst Inn in Ingersoll, on to visit/shop at the famous Coyle’s Country Store and then into Woodstock where we will enjoy the beauty of the inspiring Peace Lighthouse. Cost will be $68.00 per person. More information and sign up sheets are available at the entrance of the church. Deadline for registration is Monday, April 12th. Everyone welcome.

 

Youth Ministry…

On Thursday, March 25th, there is an Evangelization Team Meeting at 7:00 p.m. in Dublin. It is a meeting to prepare for the Confirmation Retreat on March 27th. Any high schooler still interested in helping, please call my office 519-345-2972 ext.26. If you need a ride, call and we will make it happen. “Lift Jesus Higher” is coming up on April 24th. Annual Garage & Bake Sale…

Stratford and District Right to Life will be holding their annual Garage & Bake Sale on Saturday, April 10th from 8:30 a.m to 12 noon at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall in Stratford. Re-saleable donations needed such as baking, kitchen items, drapery, children’s clothes, books & toys (No adult clothes, shoes or computers). Trip to Ottawa…

March for Life is fast approaching - Thursday, May 13th in Ottawa. Young people from Formosa, Ontario are organizing a bus and hotel rooms. Are you interested? Please speak with Fr. Paul if you want to go.
