Chilean Earthquake… Once again, we are appealing to your generosity to assist following the massive earthquake which shook Chile on February 27th. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has announced a joint emergency campaign with the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (CCODP). Development and Peace has begun to take the necessary steps to bring relief to Chile and to the survivors of this earthquake, and is relying on the generosity of the people of the Diocese of London. Please make cheques out to your parish and on the envelope mark “Chilean Earthquake Relief.” Along with the funds, prayers are urgently needed at this time for the victims and their families. Your prayers, generosity, and assistance are greatly appreciated.

Kinkora K of C News… K of C BREAKFAST on Sun., March 28th, there will be a brunch after the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Everyone is welcome. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BREAKFASTS The Kinkora K of C has been serving breakfasts to our community after Sunday Mass for a number of years. The first breakfasts were very plain with sausage, pancakes, juice and coffee being offered. Over time the meal has evolved and has become much better in part from suggestions by you. The money raised from our brunches is used to fund many local and charitable causes. We have donated to the Right to Life, Big Brothers and Sisters, Sunshine Foundation, House of Blessing, St. Vincent de Paul and many more. The Knights have also sponsored several young people from our parish on the poverty awareness trip to the Dominican Republic as well as giving support to families when a tragedy happens. We have noticed from the last few breakfasts that most of the income has covered the food expense with very little left to put towards these charities. The support of this community has always been very generous and we would like to see this continue in order to support those around us who are less fortunate. By helping others we are also helping ourselves by building a strong faith filled and caring community. Thank-you - Kinkora Knights of Columbus

World Youth Day 2011… From August 15-21st, 2011, young Catholics will come together in Madrid, Spain for an encounter with Christ in an international gathering for World Youth Day. Canadian Marian Youth has arranged accommodations centrally located in Madrid, to ensure that pilgrims are able to enjoy every minute of World Youth Day. Priests will be joining the pilgrims to offer daily Mass, meditations and will be available for confession and spiritual direction. In the Spirit of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, before the World Youth Days begins, we plan to travel to Kazakhstan to spread the joy of Jesus and serve the less fortunate. We will be hosted by the diocese of Karaganda with the invitation of Auxiliary bishop Athanasius Schneider. After the World youth days, there will also be the option of making a pilgrimage to the shrine of our Lady in Fatima, Portugal. Cost for the entire trip will be approximately $3200-3500, but may vary due to changes in airline prices and accommodations. Costs will be less for those who do not wish to travel to Kazakhstan or Portugal. Participants should be 18 yrs old or accompanied by an adult chaperone. Please speak with Fr. Paul Nicholson if you are interested in this unique spiritual experience! Maxine & Tony Ripka from Catholic Gifts Canada of Drayton will be in our parish cluster on the weekend of March 27/28.
