Body and Blood of Christ June 6, 2010
Pope John Paul II reminded us that in commemorating the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, the Church “does not only celebrate the Eucharist but solemnly bears it in procession, publicly proclaiming that the sacrifice of Christ is for the salvation of the whole world.” We rejoice in this post-Easter expression of our Eucharistic affection in order to deepen our attachment to the unique and unending Event that transforms our lives. A the sequence for Corpus Christi begs: “Jesu, of your love befriend us,/You refresh us, you defend us,/Your eternal goodness send us/In the land of life to see.” “Magnificat” - June 2010 edition

From David Howie, Executive Director, St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation: “On behalf of St. Peter’s Seminary and the St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation, let me express our humble gratitude for your prayerful and generous support to the Annual Parish Appeal for St. Peter’s Seminary. Monetary gifts, big and small have been made by many hundreds of Catholics in parish communities across the Diocese. Every gift has been received with appreciation and gratitude. In the weeks ahead, we will send you a report on the appeal’s results, not only overall donations but those specifically from your parish as well. In the meantime, if you have not already done so, we urge you to please consider supporting St. Peter’s Seminary in whatever way you can – it means so much to the future of our Church!” For more information on the Seminary and this Appeal, phone 519-432-1824 or visit the website www.stpetersseminary.ca
