If you are interested in receiving a visit from a member of the Pastoral Care Team or Father Paul, or you know of someone who would like a visit (e.g. ill, recuperating or unable to get out), please call Father Paul at 519-345-2972 ext 21 or Veronica Kolkman at 519-347-2689. We are available to bring the Holy Eucharist to your home.

 

Lenten Confessions…

On Wednesday, March 3rd confessions will be available from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church.

Tax Receipts are Ready…

The 2009 Income Tax Receipts are available for pick up at the entrance of the church. Please pick up your receipt and try to avoid the high cost of postage.

St. Patrick’s CWL News

The next monthly meeting will be held on Wed. March 3rd at the Kinkora Community Centre after the 7:00 p.m. Mass. All ladies welcome to attend!  If possible, please try to attend this Mass as it will be offered for the deceased members of our Council. As well, the sacrament of reconciliation will be available both before and after Mass.  

We will be hosting the local World Day of Prayer at St. Patrick's Church, Kinkora on Friday, March 5th at 7:00 p.m.  The focus country is Cameroon and the theme is "Let Everything That Has Breath Praise God".  All men and women are welcome to attend.  Refreshments will be served after the service. 

Please join us for our next Soup 'n Chili Luncheon which will be held on Sunday, Mar. 7th following the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Tickets will be available that day for our upcoming Draw for a beautiful Lap quilt and Table-runners: $2 each or three tickets for $5.  The winning tickets will be drawn at our Ladies Banquet on Apr. 25th.

World Day of Prayer…

Knox Presbyterian Church in Mitchell will host the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 5, 2010. The theme is “Let Everything That Has Breath Praise God” (focus country is Cameroon). The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

 

Living the Catholic Faith…

Archbishop Terrence Prendergast S.J. will be speaking on living the gift of our Catholic Faith and facing the challenge of our times. Location: St. Peter’s Seminary Auditorium on Wed., Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by the: St. Peter’s Institute for Catholic Formation, Euthanasia Prevention Coalition & Family Formation. Everyone is welcome. Freewill offering.

 

Soccer Registration…

The Kinkora Athletic Association Soccer registration is on the following dates: Thursday, Feb. 25th at the Kinkora school gym from 3:00-5:00 p.m; Saturday, Feb. 27th at Rostock hall from 2:00-4:00 p.m; Monday, March 8th at Kinkora Community Centre from 7:00-9:00 p.m. New rule this year: You can register on the above dates. After March 8th until March 30th you can register for twice the price. Phone registrations must be paid within 48 hours or you will not be considered registered. Spaghetti Supper…

1st Ellice Scouts 22nd Annual Spaghetti Supper, co-sponsored by the Ellice Optimist Club on Wednesday, February 24th, at Sebringville Community Centre from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Adults $7.00, Children 12 and under $4.00, 4 & under  free. Take-out is also available.

 

Youth Ministry News…

The youth lead Mass on February 14th at St. James Church was a time of blessing for all. I hope to have more youth lead Masses as we grow. There will be a youth lead Mass on April 10th at 6:00 p.m. at St. Ambrose, Brussels and also on May 16th at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart, Wingham. I would like to thank Marian Van Dooren for looking after the coffee and cookies. Applications for Steubenville are at the back of the church. You can fill them out and put them in an envelope and mark Steubenville Conference, attention of Karen Doyle on the front. Please place them in the collection basket. March Break Horse Camp…

Camps for cowboys and cowgirls at “Saddle Up Stables” in Sebringville. A full week of fun, riding lessons, arts, crafts, team games, learning horse parts and proper grooming and how to look after a horse. Book Early, Limited spaces available.
