Pastoral Council Renewal…
The
Pastoral Plan of the Diocese of London,
decreed by Bishop Fabbro calls for a deep renewal of parish life based upon
the shared gifts and talents of a renewed parish pastoral council. This
renewed vision is pastoral - not structural, not maintenance, not clustering,
not closure, and not financial, but pastoral -- that is to say, helping the
parish identify needs and reach out to families and grow in faith.
This new vision of pastoral council will demand new eyes. We believe that
within this parish community there are people who are blessed with hidden
abilities who can help the parish priest lead our parish into a stronger and
more enthusiastic life of FAITH.
The present council, having studied the new guidelines from the diocese, has
embraced the plan and fully supports it. The present council will stay on
until the newly selected council has been formally established (approximately
6 weeks).
To
start this effort, we ask each parishioner to pray and to think over the
coming week, these two questions:
"Do I have something to
offer the parish in this new way of being pastoral council?"
"Do I know someone in our parish who could really help lead our parish to new growth and possibilities?"
