Prayers and Sympathy…

of the parish are extended to the family of Angela Diemand whose funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church last  Saturday. “May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen.” May the Diemand family find comfort in God’s love and peace in His faithfulness.

St. Columban Cemetery Sunday…

Is scheduled for Sunday, August 30th at 2:00 p.m. Fr. Chris Gillespie officiating. There will be bacon-on-a-bun provided by the Knights of Columbus. In case of inclement weather, Mass will be held at St. James Church in Seaforth.

 

Do You Love Jesus and Mary?

Would you like to tell the school children about the lives of Jesus and Mary? Are you willing to dedicate two hours a month to pray the Rosary with school children? We are in need of volunteers to join the existing teams visiting St. Patrick’s, St. Columban and St. James Schools for this program. COR 18…

In the spring we held COR 17 and it was a HUGE success with a waiting list of youths, so thanks to all the youth that attended it and all the people who supported it. It's a great weekend and is always enjoyed by those who participate. COR 18 will be held on the weekend of Sept 25, 26, 27/09 in Dublin. Come and see what it’s all about. All youth between the ages of 16 and 21 are invited to attend this fun-filled weekend. Please pick up an application at the entrance of the church and send it to Karen & Ray Mathonia, R. R. 2, Zurich, Ontario N0M 2T0 -- applications will also be available at St. Anne's and St. Michael's schools. Apply soon so you are not disappointed.

Pig Roast in Dublin

Tickets for the Family Pig Roast on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Dublin Community Centre are going fast but we still have some available at the entrance of the church before and after weekend masses at St. Patrick’s, Dublin or by calling 519-345-2926. Tickets are $15/adult - $8/12 and under. Dinner (catered by Scott Saunders – The Rolling Roaster) will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. followed by the Silent Auction.

 

Let’s Celebrate…

Everyone is invited to the 175th Anniversary Jubilee Mass at St. Peter’s Parish, 156 North Street, Goderich as we celebrate 175 years of faith and service to God and one another. Bishop Fabbro will celebrate the Jubilee Mass on Sunday, September 27 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a banquet and extravaganza at the Columbus Centre in Goderich.
