Words of Thanks… Thank you to everyone who helped in any way over the Lenten and Easter Season at our parishes. Our churches were beautifully decorated! We are truly grateful for the music ministry, altar servers, commentators, readers, gift bearers, ushers, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. You are all appreciated!
Newly Received Catholics… Welcome to Anne Copeland, Michele Nicholson, and Jessica Reinink who were confirmed and received into the full communion of the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Clergy Appreciation Night… The fraternal order of the Knights of Columbus has chosen 2010 as the “Year of the Priest”. To celebrate this event and to recognize our priests for what they provide us and our communities, ALL parishioners are invited to join in the celebration of Mass for “Clergy Appreciation Night” at St. Patrick’s Church, Kinkora on Thurs., April 22nd at 5:00 p.m. Dinner to follow at Brodhagen Community Centre. Dinner tickets will be available from K of C members at the back of the church or contact Garry Duwyn 519-348-4354. Cost is $25.00 per person. All proceeds will be sent to St. Peter’s Seminary, London. This event is being organized by the five councils of District 31 (Perth County). A Day with Mary… May 22, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate will be offering a special day of retreat based on the messages of Fatima at St. Patrick’s Church, Kinkora. The Friars will give talks, hear confessions, have time for private prayer and adoration and conclude the day with the vigil Mass on Pentecost Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Friars will be accompanied by the sisters and tertiaries from Connecticut U.S.A. Details are on the poster.
Mitchell Logan K of C News… The next General Meeting will be held at St. Vincent de Paul on Tuesday, April 20th at 7:30 p.m. All members are invited to attend and have your opinions heard. St. Vincent de Paul CWL meeting will be on Tuesday, April 13th at 7:30 p.m. in the church hall.

St. Patrick’s CWL News… St. Patrick’s CWL will hold their next meeting on Wednesday, April 14th at 7:30 p.m. in the church vestry. Please note the change of location. All ladies welcome. After the April 25th 10:00 a.m. Mass, St. Patrick’s CWL will be recognizing those ladies with 25, 40, 50, 60 years as a member of the Catholic Women’s League. We thank all those ladies for their service and dedication to the League over the years. May God bless you! St. Patrick’s invites all women and girls to its CWL Annual Luncheon on Sunday, April 25th following the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Our speaker will be Antony John from Sebringville who will be speaking on “The Food Web” – sustainable farming and the importance of eating locally. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Knights who will be catering our luncheon.
Cemetery Cleanup… St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 17th beginning at 9:30 a.m. All help is welcomed especially students who need volunteer hours. Please bring your own rake. Just show up that day or contact Neil Dekroon at 519-348-8595 for more information. Rain date: April 24th.
Youth Ministry... I would like to encourage all who are interested in COR to sign up soon. It is an amazing weekend to come together with other youth from all areas to grow and celebrate your faith. There are very few seats left for “Lift Jesus Higher” April 24th. This is a great follow up day after COR. There will be 2 stops as we are sharing the bus with another cluster. All Married Couples… Bishop Fabbro will celebrate a special Wedding Anniversary Mass for all married couples in the diocese, at St. Peter’s Basilica in London on Sunday, April 25th at 3:00 p.m. This year Bishop Fabbro is celebrating his 30th year of ordination to the priesthood and is issuing a special invitation to all couples who are also celebrating 30 years of life long commitment to attend. A reception will follow. Please call the parish office to register at 519-345-2972 ext 23 as soon as possible.
“Seniors Alive” Day Trip… Our spring outing will be on Wednesday, May 12th. We have an enjoyable day planned starting with dinner at the historic Elmhurst Inn in Ingersoll, on to visit/shop at the famous Coyle’s Country Store and then into Woodstock where we will enjoy the beauty of the inspiring Peace Lighthouse. Cost will be $68.00 per person. More information and sign up sheets are available at the entrance of the church. Deadline for registration is Friday, April 16th. Everyone welcome.
